Thursday, June 19th: Day 6
We finished our trek through Ohio today, passing Cleveland on the way out. While not a bad state by any standards I have formed on this trip, Ohio is fairly boring. After passing swiftly through the end of Pennsylvania, we made it into New York. We drove along the coast of Lake Erie and took in some quite spectacular views. Many houses in this area look very picturesque and there was a plenitude of quiet streams and small forested areas. So far New York has easily been my favorite state. In fact, aside from a psychotically cheerful and giant doll, this looks like it would be a very pleasant place to live. Although this could just be due to the fact that, as far as I could tell, there were no "bakery/thrift stores" as I had seen in other states.

Wednesday, June 18th: Day 5
Today we left our hotel and, after a confusing but scenic Garmen-directed venture, we circled back to our starting location and then entered the freeway. We passed through St. Louis, which looked surprisingly like Seattle, and saw the overflow of the Mississippi river as we passed into Illinois, through Indiana, and on to Ohio. As far as I can tell the latter three states should be lumped together into one; Illianahio. We then continued to our hotel in Dayton, OH. Other than a few cows the day (after leaving Missouri) was quite uneventful.
